Brian McKnight went viral after referring to his biological children with his ex-wife Julie McKnight as ‘evil’ and ‘products of sin’.

McKnight, who is a father of seven, has five biological children and two stepchildren with his current wife Leilani McKnight.

During his 13-year marriage to Julie McKnight from 1990 to 2003, Brian and Julie shared two sons, Brian Jr. and Niko. They were said to be college sweethearts.

Additionally, Brian McKnight has a biological daughter named Briana with Patricia Driver and a son named Clyde with a woman whose identity remains undisclosed to the public.

In 2017 Brian married to Leilani embracing her two children Juila and Jack, as his own.

In 2023 the couple welcomed a second son who he named Brian Kainoa Makoa McKnight Jr, following the death of their first son, Kekoa Matteo.

Brian’s disdain for his older kids specifically with Julie has been widely documented because he has never held back on how he feels.

Recently he said in response to a comment about children being a gift from the Lord:

God wasn’t talking about children that are the product of sin which these are 2. I didn’t raise them their mother did.

Julie, who we rarely hear from hopped on Instagram to gracefully address his comments.

“The point of every negative situation, whether it’s an illness whether it’s a fool that you have to deal with because they keep entering your life when you are no longer giving anymore energy to it, is to only keep you down to where they thought they had you because they were the author of an extremely abusive situation emotionally, mentally. And they’re no good at not being the center of attention anymore. So when everybody pulls that away, it’s like a kid without candy who throws a tantrum…”

She also made it clear that she was proud to be a mom to her two sons and is grateful she was chosen to raise them, albeit predominantly on her own.
